日本国の対韓十か条の要求の第８番目の要求は、国際法の遵守と法の支配の尊重です。
邦文：国際法の遵守と法の支配の尊重
これまで述べてきた要求項目に共通する点の一つは、韓国が、国際法や国際ルールを誠実に遵守せず、日本国の名誉や権利を不当に侵害していることです。韓国は、日本国に対する債務さえ誠実に返済しようとはしていません。北朝鮮と同様に、韓国と条約等を締結することは、何れの国にとっても無駄なことなのです。また、紛争の解決に際しても、国際社会において設けられている平和的な解決方法を用いようとはしていません。他者の権利を尊重しようとしない韓国の自己中心的な行動は、国際社会の秩序を乱しています。日本国政府は、韓国に対して、法の支配を理解すると共に、国際法に誠実に遵守し、国際的な行動規範に従った行動を採るように要求します。法の支配こそ、国際社会の安全と安定、そして、正義を支えているのですから。
English: Observance of and respect for international law and the rule of law
One of the problems common to the above-mentioned seven points of demands is that South Korea and Korean people have no intention to observe treaties, customary international laws, bilateral agreements and general principles of law sincerely, so that they have done harm to Japanese honor and rights unjustifiably. Even financial debs based on loan agreements with Japan, South Korea has been reluctant to discharge in good faith.
It seems to any states to be in vain to conclude any treaties or to promise with South Korea as well as North Korea who has often broken international consents habitually. In addition to lawless behaviors, they never resort to peaceful means for settlement of disputes, especially arbitral and judicial settlement.
Selfish attitudes of Koreans, who are not willing to respect rights of others, cause undesirable discord and confusion in the international society. Japan demands to South Korea to observe legal norms and recommends them to understand the worth of the rule of law intrinsically. The rule of law is fundamental to peace, safety and justice of the international society.
